Jingzhou
Jingzhou, Hubei Province (Ching-chou)

Jingzhou, located near the middle of the Yangtze River in Hubei Province, is a city rich in history and culture. Located in central China, Jingzhou has long been the central market of all provinces from east to west and from north to south. The city has become a world famous cultural capital, tourist wonder, and fertile farmland. Plentiful sunshine, a rich amount of rainfall, distinctive four seasons, and a vast plain make it a rich place for rice and fish. Jingzhou is also the birthplace of the ancient Chu culture and ancient battlefield of Three Kingdoms (220-280). Numerous sites have been preserved from that time, including the ruins of five Chu cities, 73 sites of the Chu culture, and more than 800 large ancient tombs, including those of 18 Chu kings. Jingzhou has now become one of the 24 famous historical and cultural cities named by the State Council, making it one of the most famous tourist cities in all of China. Jingzhou has a population of 1.56 million people, and less than 0.5% are Christian.
