Current Prayer Request
Sunday, October 26th, 2008CHINA. Chinese parents reeled as they begun to realize earlier this fall that their babies and children were being poisoned by the milk formula that they were drinking. Several babies died and, as authorities began to respond to the nationwide crisis, it became clear that more than 6000 babies had been fed tainted milk. Pray that health officials will be more vigilant in oversight of matters and materials that can be harmful to its people.
CHINA. After China staged an outstanding Paralympics, many are prayerful that the country will now be more open to its own 83 million handicapped people, many of whom have faced severe discrimination in the past. Pray that those who have been hidden by society for so long will soon be viewed with respect and compassion. Pray that they can come to know the Father who loves them so.
CHINA. Asked about the depiction of Mao Tse Dong hanging from his rearview mirror, the Chinese van driver gingerly caressed the photo and said, “Many Chinese people still worship him.” It was a stark reminder that more than 30 years after the death of the tyrannical ruler, many thousands still line up weekly to pay respect at the site of his physical remains. Pray that the Chinese people, every one of them, can come to know Jesus, who gave His life for them and who alone is worthy of worship.
CHINA. Having just attended a Bible study where she heard an amazing story about Jesus turning water into wine, the Chinese university student said, “This is the first time I have ever heard of Jesus. Is there something that I can read to tell me more about him?” She left that night with a New Testament tucked under her arm, and a smile of joy on her face. Pray that she will soon become His child. Ask the Father for the salvation of millions.
