Current Prayer Requests

CHINA.  Michael Phelps was quoted by China’s Xinhua news agency as saying that learning Mandarin Chinese is harder than winning eight gold medals in the pool!  Although that may have been a bit of an exaggeration, learning Chinese as an adult is a tremendous challenge.  Yet many Christian workers willingly embrace that challenge so that they can share the Gospel in the mother tongue of China’s people.  Please pray that every Christian worker who is studying Chinese or ethnic-minority dialects will trust Him fully for enabling.

CHINA.  As students in Sichuan Province started a new school year, memories of earthquake losses remained fresh.  At one middle school that collapsed in the quake and has since been rebuilt, three rows of wheelchairs held students who had been severely injured.  Relief efforts will be ongoing for many more months.  Pray that Chinese Christians and overseas workers assisting in the relief work will look to Him for wisdom, strength, opportunities, and spiritual fruit.

CHINA.  With a strong possibility that surveillance and harassment of Christians will pick up in the months following the Olympics, please pray that all who walk with Christ will be constantly reminded of His all encompassing provision.  Pray that Christian leaders will be wise as serpents and gentle as doves.  Pray that God’s Word will go forth into even the most remote parts of China.

CHINA.  The American mom had just recently returned from several months in the U.S.  She is now back in the routine of home schooling one child, overseeing the activities of her other two children, encouraging her husband in his busy ministry and travels, and engaging in one-on-one ministry herself.  She is one of many wives and moms who, despite the challenges, are happily living out their lives in China for the sake of the gospel.  Secure in their commitment to God’s call to China, she and her husband consider China to be their home.  Praise God for all who are serving Him in China.  Pray that they will constantly be renewed in Him.
